A flood watch has returned to southern Utah. The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for the St. George area, Kane and Garfield counties. The flood watch for those areas went in to effect at the time they were issued at 2:46 Tuesday afternoon. At the same time the weather services issued a flood watch for Iron and Beaver counties, but the flood watch for those areas don't go in effect until Wednesday morning. The flood watch for all areas is in effect until Wednesday evening. The weather service warns that excessive runoff can result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low lying and flood prone locations. The weather service recommends people in the flood watch areas monitor current conditions and be prepared to take action should a Flash Flood Warning be issued.
