A man is facing sentencing in late July after pleading guilty today to the murder of Nicole Solorio-Romero nearly three years ago. The Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office says Jorge Rafael Medina-Reyes entered his plea in connection with one count of first-degree felony murder and one count of first-degree felony aggravated kidnapping. Prosecutors say Medina-Reyes, along with co-defendant Orlando Tobar, allegedly forced 25-year-old Solorio-Romero from her home at gunpoint and into a vehicle in early February in 2021. Her abduction near her Kearns home in was caught on a doorbell camera. Police say she was shot twice and her body was found months later in Tooele County. Tobar pleaded guilty on May 24th to the same charges and with the same plea deal as Medina-Reyes. They are both scheduled to be sentenced on July 23.
